In the Matter of constructing a sewer in Burr Street from 11+7 feet south of Arlington
Avenue to 25 feet north of Ivy Avenue; in Cottage Avenue from Burr Street to De Soto
Street; in De Soto Street from Cottage Avenue to 300 feet south of Arlington Avenue;
from De Soto Street to Arkwright Street in a 20 foot easement (to be obtained), the
center line of said easement being described as being parallel to and 300 feet south
of the south property line of Arlington Avenue and said easement extending from De Soto
Street to Arkwright Street; in Arkwright Street from 300 feet south of Arlington Avenue
to Cottage Avenue, and in Cottage Avenue from Arkwright Street to Edgemont Street - all
of which is to be known as the COTTAGE-BURR SEWER SYSTEM,
under Preliminary Order 178918 approved July 21+, 1956
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is construct a sever in
Burr Street from 11+7 feet south of Arlington Avenue to 25 feet north of Ivy Avenue;
in Cottage Avenue from Burr Street to De Soto Street; in De Soto Street from Cottage
Avenue to 300 feet south of Arlington Avenue; from De Soto Street to Arkwright Street in
a 20 foot easement (to be obtained), the center line of said easement being described as
being parallel to and 300 feet south of the south property line of Arlington Avenue and
said easement extending from De Soto Street to Arkwright Street; in Arkwright Street from
300 feet south of Arlington Avenue to Cottage Avenue, and in Cottage Avenue from Arkwright
Street to Edgemont Street - all of which is to be known as the COTTAGE-BURR SEWER SYSTEM,
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ 1+2,397.30
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 19th day of
March , 19 57, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
