And WHERRAS1 This emergency arose by reason of the follow- ing facts and circumstances: Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of depart- mental activities, such as: Heating the Zoo and Greenhouse at Como Park; snowplow- ing and sanding boulevards, parkways and walks; preparing and maintaining play- ground skating and hockey rinks; useage and participation being largely greater through week ends. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pa4Y the employees who performed such work in accordance with the pro- visions of the Councils salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
