WHEREAS, under date of January 22, 1954, by Council-File
No. 166924, the Corporation Counsel was authorized to enter into
a contract with Vennum, Newhall & Ackman for the editorial work
in codifying ordinances of the City of Saint Paul, said contract
being for the price of .,500.00, after bids had been received
from a number of bidders interested in the project; and
WHEREAS, such contract was entered into and the said
parties did complete the editorial work down to the date of
April 1955; and
WHEREAS, thereafter, the printing of the said Code was
delayed because of lack of funds in the proper item in the fund
of the Corporation Counsel, which said item has now b4en made full
by reason of the inclusion of the necessary amounts in the budget
of said Fund for 1957; and
WHEREAS, the Council is now advised by the Corporation
Counsel that Vennum, Newhall & Ackman have proposed that for the
price of $2,250.00 they will complete the editorial work of codi-
fying the ordinances from April 1955 down to October 1, 1956; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, upon recommendation of the Corporation Counsel,
said officer is hereby authorized to accept the proposal for the
extension of the editorial work to October 1, 1956, and the proper
City officers are hereby directed to execute the contract therefor.
