WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul has
recently been made aware of the increase in the retail

of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the said Council has been advised that such

price of gasoline charged such retailers by the wholesale
vendors of gasoline; and
WHEREAS, the Council of this City and all of the citizens
of said City have been afforded no logical or rational reason
or explanation for such increase other than the a ianation
made by the national oil companies that the cost of supply
to such companies has increased, and that said explanation
so offered has not been supported in any manner by fact;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, on
behalf of all the citizens of this City, that it does hereby
respectfully desire to call the attention of the Honorable
Orville Freeman, Governor of the State of Minnesota, to this
gasoline price increase situation now existing in this City
and State, and does respectfully request the Governor of
Minnesota to call upon the representatives of the State of
Minnesota in the national Congress to petition for an
investigation in the Senate and House of Representatives of
the United States to inquire into the facts surrounding the

to the retailers in this State.
