WHEREAS, The Commission- of Public Works has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of he City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from January 31 through February 6, 1957, which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the
Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or
forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Removing snow and ice from city streets
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessity of keeping city streets free from snow and ice after
recent snowfall .
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council ' s salary ordinance, Ordinance
No. 6446.
