WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from February 3rd through March 2nd, 1957 which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Libraries,
Auditorium and Museums, Bureau of Auditorium, for more than eight hours per day
or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Operate switchboard, ventilating system and electric work, also to
supervise during the various activities held in the building.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-
stances:
No other trained help available to work during Winter Carnival events,
boxing, basketball, road show, hockey tournament and other events, this
time includes Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby authorised
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions
of the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446. Council File No. 181857—By Severin A.

Resolved, That the proper city offi-
cers are hereby authorized to pay cer-
tain employes in the Department of
Libraries, Auditorium & Museums, Bu-
reau of Auditorium, for extra employ-
ment as described in the resolution.
