WHEREAS, the Committee on L; ' " in the premises, after reception and consideration of
competitive bids for leasing of real estate described as:

subject to approval and confirmation by this Council, has awarded the subject contract of
lease unto PIONEER GARAGE AND APPLIANCE, INC., the highest reasonable and reliable bidder
therefor, as Lessee, at the monthly rental of $350.00 for Block No. 1 and a monthly rental
of $350.00 for Block No. 2, or a total monthly rental of $700.00, for use by said Lessee
for the latter's maintenance and operation for and during the said lease term of a public
motor vehicle parking lot on each such block subject to and in accordance with applicable
specifications therefor, heretofore prepared and submitted by the Commissioner of Public
Works and approved by this Council, and has recommended the execution of the contemplated
lease by and between the City of Saint Paul, Lessor, and said Pioneer Garage and Appliance,
Inc., Lessee, and such being deemed in the best interest of the City, it is
HEREBY RESOLVED, that said award of contract be and the same hereby is in all things
approved and that said contract of lease be and the same hereby is awarded to said bidder,
Pioneer Garage and Appliance, Inc., in accordance with said specifications and said bid; and
that the proper City officers hereby are authorized and directed to make, execute, and
deliver in the name of said City as Lessor, a Lease prepared and approved by the
Corporation Cousel with said bidder, Pioneer Garage and Appliance, In. . as Lessee, leasing
the subject premises by said City unto said Lessee for said period of two years and
eleven months in accordance with said specifications and said bid.

Dear Sir:
The City Council, on November 22nd, adopted a motion asking that you take
the necessary steps to cancel a lease or leases between the city and Pioneer
Garage and Appliance Co. of certain property in the Capitol area which was
proposed to be used as a parking lot or parking lots, and to take such action
as is necessary to collect whatever money may be due the city as rental, such
collection to be made from a surety company if necessary.
Joseph J. Mitchell, City Comptroller, advised the Council that this lessee
has not paid any amount on its lease and is delinquent a considerable amount.
