WHEREAS, it has been reported that consideration is
being given the Twin Cities as a future home of a major
league baseball team, and
WHEREAS, fine new facilities have been planned for
the taint Paul Midway Stadium to ultimately make it
suitable for expansion to meet major league baseball
attendance requirements,
WHEREAS, its central location makes it available
to a very large number of persons, and
WHEREAS, a major league baseball team would be
assured of the loyal support of Saint Paul fans, there-
fore , be it ,
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul
goes on record as insisting that such major league club
as may make its home in the Twin Cities play at least one-
half of its home games in the new Saint Paul Midway Stadium.

A resolution concerning major league baseball was presented
to the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at
their regular monthly meeting last Monday and it was unanimously
approved.
The enclosed copy is forwarded to you at the direction of our
Board with a request that a position identical to that stated
in the resolution be taken by your group.

Midway Stadium to ultimately make it suitable for expansion to meet
major league baseball attendance requirements,
WHEREAS, its central location makes it available to a very large

WHEREAS, a major league baseball team would be assured of the loyal
support of Saint Paul fans, therefore
LE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Saint Paul Chamber
of Commerce hereby unanimously approves the recommendation of the Public
Relations Committee that the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce and the City
Council of Saint Paul go on record as insisting that such major league
club as may make its home in the Twin Cities play at least one-half of its
home games in the new Saint Paul Midway Stadium, and that a copy of this
resolution be forwarded to the City Council of Saint Paul with the request
that a position identical with that stated herein be taken by that municipal
body.
