PAUL FlIOC NCIL NO OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY Frank D. ar itelli, DATE March 14, 1957 COMMISSIONER --- ' i I /jam � i A"AIM' ' - - - WHEREAS, The Commissioner •f O Public Works has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the Cit fharter, the existence of an emergency during the period from February 16, 1957 to February 28, 1957 which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Council File No. 181760—By Frank D.1 Marzitelli- Resolved,street, building , sewer & bridge repair Resolved, That the proper city tce -' cers are hereby authorized to pay cer- tain employes in the Department of Dispatching men for emergency repair work Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Adopted by the Council March 5, Operating equipment on emergency repair work 19Approved March 5, 1957. Emergency calls for sewer maintenance (March 9, 1957) Removing snow from city streets and sanding icy streets Tending fire at Asphalt Plant on Sunday & holidays Emergency garbage pickup Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs Overseeing inmates at workhouse farm Completing payroll work AND WHEREAS, This emergency arose byreason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repairs calls, keeping city streets free from snow & ice, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, picking up garbage, taking complaints at city yards, completing plans & specifi- cations for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessments and keeping city equipment in good running condition, inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work, overseeing inmates at workhouse farm, and completing payroll work. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council ' s salary ordinance, Ordinance No . 6446.
