In the matter of partially opening, widening and extending the proposed Northern Route
by condemning and taking an easement for highway purposes on and across the following
described tracts and parcels of land, all in the City of St. Paul, County of Ramsey and
State of Minnesota, to-wit:
A strip of land 150 feet in width lying North of and adjacent to the southerly right-of-
way line of the Great Northern Railroad Company in portions of the NE 1/14 of the SW 1/4,
the NW 1/4 of the SE 1/4, and of the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/14 of Section 28, Township 29
North, Range 23 West, Fourth Principal Meridian, except Prior Avenue and Snelling Avenue,
the said southerly right-of-way line intersecting the center line of Snelling Avenue at
487.36 feet south of the northeast corner of the SE 1/4 of Section 289 Township 29 North,
Range 23 West, Fourth Principal Meridian.
Also a parcel of land in the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 28, Township 29 North,
Range 23 West, Fourth Principal Meridian lying northerly of and adjacent to the above
mentioned 150 foot wide strip of land and bounded by the following described lines:
Commencing for the purpose of establishing the point of beginning at the intersection
of the center line of Snelling Avenue (the east line of Section 28, Township 29 North,
Range 23 West), and the southerly right-of-way line of the Great Northern Railroad Com-
pany which is 187.36 feet south of the northeast corner of the SE 1/4 of Section 28,
Township 29 North, Range 23 Vest, Fourth Principal Meridian; thence north on the center
line of Snelling Avenue a distance of two hundred fifty (250) feet to a point which is
the point of beginning; thence westerly on a straight line parallel to said southerly
right-of-way line a distance of three hundred fifty feet (350 ') to a point; thence south-
westerly on a straight line to its intersection with the north line of the previously de-
scribed 150 foot wide strip of land at a point that is one thousand fifty (1050) feet
westerly of the center line of Snelling Avenue as measured along the aforesaid north
line; thence easterly on the said north line of the 150 foot wide strip of land to a
point on the center line of Snelling Avenue; thence north on the center line of Snelling
Avenue to the point of beginning, except Snelling Avenue.
Also a parcel of land in the NW 1/4 and NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 27, Township 29
North, Range 23 West, Fourth Principal Meridian lying northerly of and adjacent to the
southerly right-of-way line of the Great Northern Railroad Company bounded by the fol-
lowing described lines: Commencing at the intersection of the center line of Snelling
Avenue and the said southerly right-of-way line which is 187.36 feet south of the north-
west corner of the SW 1/4 of Section 27, Township 29 North, Range 23 West, Fourth Princi-
pal Meridian; thence north on the center line of Snelling Avenue a distance of two hundred
fifty (250) feet to a point; thence easterly on a straight line parallel to the aforesaid
southerly right-of-way line a distance of two hundred ten (210) feet to a point; thence
southeasterly on a straight line that makes an angle to the right of 11° 42 ', a distance
of eight hundred sixty-two and nine tenths (862.90) feet to a point; thence southeasterly
on a straight line that makes an angle to the left of 4° 47 , 36", a distance of six hun-
dred twenty three and sixty seven hundredths (623.67) feet to the intersection of the
east line of Holton Street and the aforesaid southerly right-of-way line; thence westerly
on the said southerly right-of-way line to the point of beginning, except Snelling Avenue.
Also an easement, at areas to be designated, in the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 28,
Township 29 North, Range 23 West, for construction purposes in the disposal and deposit
of the excess excavated soil and other material available as incidental to the grading
and other improvement in the right-of-way of the proposed Northern Route,
