Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the appeal of Concordia College to establish
a building line on the south side of St. Anthony between Griggs and
Hamline. This property is described as except the N'ly 10' for the
widening of St. Anthony, Blocks 8 & 13, D. W. Ingersolls Addition.
The present building line is 240', they propose a building; line of 28' .
In view of the fact that the applicant controls all of the frontage on
this portion of St. Anthony and that this proposal, if granted, would
have no detrimental effect on surrounding area the Zoning Board finds
no objection from the standpoint of adjacent land use. In consideration
of these factors the Zoning Board recommends that this building line
change be granted.

Re: Concordia College Dormitory
Gentlemen:
Concordia College , 275 North Syndicate Ave. ,
St . Paul, Minnesota requests favorable approval of
establishing a new building line on St . Anthony
Ave . for the proposed new dormitory building.
All of the property affected is owned and in-
habited by the Concordia College . The existing
residences and buildings designated as East , Main
and West will eventually be replaced with new
dormitories as outlined on the enclosed plot plan,
drawn by Max & Gerald Buetow, Architects.
In effect , it will merely place the end of
the proposed dormitory building 2$1-0" from the
north property line , and will enable larger areas
to be allotted inside the block for open grass
areas .
This arrangement has been carefully studied
and approved by the Board of Control of Concordia
College and is believed important to fit into the
overall plan of Concordia College Campus .
Enclosed are five ( 5) copies of the plot plan.
Yours very truly,
Y/ ' ll

Gentlemen:
The undersigned respectfully requests consideration of
the mayor and council of the reducing of building line
requirements on lots &,5, & 6 and 11, 12, & 13, Block 4,
Woodford Park, from twenty-four feet to twelve feet.
The property in question consists of a hilltop site
fronting on a street(Eleanor) which has been platted
but which will never be graded because of the fact that
the great elevation in height between Montcalm Place
and Lexington Avenue would make a street there impract-
icable. The house we propose to build would not face that
street (north) but the rear of the house at the southwest
corner of Montcalm Place and Eleanor Street, which also
is built twelve feet from the Eleanor Street line.
Terrain of my property is such that it would be impossible
to build with an Eleanor Steet facing without extensive
grading and filling operations which would detract from
the desirability of my property.
Since no other houses can be built in that block with
an Eleanor Street facing, construction of my house at
the twelve foot setback cannot deleteriously effect any
other property owners.
Your prompticpnsideration of this appeal will be greatly
appreciated.
