.fl BEAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has retorted, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence
of an emergency during the period from May 1, 1957 to May 31,
1957, which rendered necessary the employment of certain em-
ployees of the Department of Public Safety for more than eight
hours per day, or forty hours per week, in doing the following
work:
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building Main-
tenance, and '.'d.E REAS, this emergency arose by reason of the
following facts and circumstances:
To replace employees on sick leave
THEREFOIM BE IT RESOL7rED: That the prover city officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employe e s who performed such
work in accordance with the provision of the Council's Sal-
ary Ordinance No, 64.6, Council File No. 183127—By Robert F.
Peterson—
Resolved, That the proper city offi-
cers are hereby authorized to pay
certain employes in the Department of
Public Safety for extra employment
as described in the resolution.
