INTERMEDIARY ORDER Avenue by removing Como e exnt r rttos Rice
In the Matter of improving Lafond Avenue from Como Avenue to Rice Street by removing
the existing asphalt surfacing and concrete base where necessary and surfacing the
existing concrete base where left in place with asphaltic concrete; by constructing
new concrete base with asphaltic concrete surfacing where the existing pavement is
removed; by grading and paving the widened roadway with concrete base and asphaltic
concrete surfacing; by grading and paving driveway returns; by constructing new curbs
and sidewalks where necessary; by constructing sewer, water and gas service connections
from the street mains to the property lines where necessary; by reconstructing the
paving, curbing and sidewalks on the intersecting streets where not in conformity with
said improvement and by doing all other work which is necessary and incidental to said
improvement,
under Preliminary Order 18138+ approved February 5, 1957
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is improve Lafond Avenue
from Como Avenue to Rice Street by removing the existing asphalt surfacing and concrete
base where necessary and surfacing the existing concrete base where left in place with
asphaltic concrete; by constructing new concrete base with asphaltic concrete surfacing
where the existing pavement is removed; by grading and paving the widened roadway with
concrete base and asphaltic concrete surfacing; by grading and paving driveway returns;
by constructing new curbs and sidewalks where necessary; by constructing sewer, water
and gas service connections from the street mains to the property lines where necessary;
by reconstructing the paving, curbing and sidewalks on the intersecting streets where
not in conformity with said improvement and by doing all other work which is necessary
and incidental to said improvement,
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ -0,868.60
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 21st day of
May , 19__2 at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvenneot and,,th total cost thereof as estimated.
