Whereas, The Council did by Resolu-
tio^ N- 181e37, approved.M ireh 15.
WHEREAS, the Council did by Resolution No. 181937, approved MarCh 15, 1957,
authorize the issuance and sale of $1,000,000 Water Works Bonds, Series 19570, and as
the proper city officers have fully caused the said bonds to be advertised for sale
and said advertisement required bids to be submitted on April 10, 1957, and as the bids
were submitted and opened, examined and tabulated by the Council, and the joint bid of
Harris Trust & Savings Bank, The Chase Manhattan Bank, Joint Managers, and C. J. Devine &
Co.; First National Bank of Portland; Fidelity Union Trust Company; Trust Company of
Georgia; Marine Trust Company of Western New York; W. E. Hutton & Co.; Reynolds & Co. ;
Commerce Trust Company, Kansas City; City National Bank & Trust Company, Kansas City;
Blunt Ellis & Simmons; Baxter & Co.; Folger, Nolan, Fleming-W. B. Hibbs & Co. ; Winslow,
Cohu & Stetson; J. A. Overton & Co.; Shaughnessy & Company, Inc.; McMaster Hutchinson & Co. ;
Kenower, MacArthur & Co. ;
was found to be the most advantageous, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the bid of joint bid of the above named syndicate
be accepted and said bonds awarded at a price, namely, par and accrued interest with a
coupon rate of 2.90 per cent and a premium of $1,499.00.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council hereby ratifies and approves each and every
act of the Sinking Fund Committee in connection with the sale of said bonds.
