WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from March 3rd through March 30th, 1957 which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Libraries,
Auditorium and Museums, Bureau of Auditorium, for more than eight hours per day
or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Operate switchboard, ventilating system and electric work, also to
supervise during the various activities held in the building.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-
stances:
No other trained help available to work during Basketball Tournament, Circus,
Conventions, Boat Show and ice Capa des held in the building, this time includes
Saturdays and Sundays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby authorized to
pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of
the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
