and the Chicago, Pock Island and Pacific Pailway Company be permitted
to enlarge an existing driveway on the property at the southwest
corner of Minnehaha. and Prior Avenues, subject to the condition that
no trucking operations are conducted within the street right-of-way, and
in accordance with plans approved June 20, 1957, and under the direction
and to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Public Works, and
subject to the further condition that the sidewalks abutting said
premises be kept clean and free of ice and snow at all times.

The City Council requested that you prepare a resolution granting
the attached application of Joslyn Manufacturing and Supply Co. and
the C. R. I. & P. Railroad for a permit to enlarge an existing
driveway on the property at the southwest corner of Minnehaha and
Prior Ayes, subject to the condition that no trucking operations
are conducted within the street right-of-way, and in accordance
with plans approved June 20, 1957.

Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of the Joslyn Mfg. and
Supply Company and the C. R. I & P. Railroad for a permit to enlarge
an existing driveway located on the property adjacent to the SW
corner of Minnehaha and Prior. The legal description of the pro-
perty involved is quite lengthy and is contained in the application
for this permit.
The zoning is "heavy industry" , The building which this driveway
serves was formerly occupied by the Graybar Electric Company as a
warehouse. The applicants are proposing that this existing drivewai
be expanded to provide for continuous access from Prior for a distance
of 115' .
The Traffic Engineer's office has no objection to this proposal pro-
vided that no trucking operations are conducted within the street
right-of-way. The applicant's plans approved June 20, 1957 meet all
existing requirements.
In consideration of these factors, the Zoning Board recommends that
this permit be granted subject to the above-mentioned limitation as
to the manner in which trucks are parked while using the fa ' lity.
