PAUL FIOE NCIL NO O FICE OF THE CITY CLERK COU11C RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY ! / COMMISSIONER DATF WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from June 16th to June 30th 1957 inc., which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Posting meter readings taken on Friday. (2) Necessary work to keep Highland Park Station operating. (3) Supervising repairs to 30" water main on Mississippi St. at Maryland. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) Necessary to work Saturdays in order to have Friday meter readings ready for billers on Monday morning. (2) Sunday work. (3) In order to give water and fire protection to consumers as quickly as possible. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No.6446.
