4 WHEREAS, the City Council on July 16, 2008, by Resolution Number 08-743, authorized the Director of
5 the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council for Livable
6 Communities Demonstration Account grants; and

8 WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved a grant of $575,000 for the Schmidt Brewery and a grant
9 of $250,000 far 2700 the Avenue; and

i l WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.071 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby
12 certify that $825,000 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2009
13 budget and recommends the following changes to the 2009 budget:
