Holland— An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 7210, enINAn9orrdinance amen.,,,.- "An ordinance providing for all matters con- cerning , regulating or affecting the construction, alteration, regulation, repair, removal, maintenance , use and inspection of all buildings, walls , or struc- tures erected or to be erected within the limits of the City of Saint Paul for the protection of proper- ty against fire , and for the purpose of securing healthful, safe and sanitary environments for the occupants of buildings used for human habitation or otherwise , to compel the owners of such buildings , walls or structures to alter, reconstruct or modify the same , or any part thereof , for the purpose afore- said, and to prohibit the unlawful use or occupancy of all buildings , walls or structures ; establishing fire limits , and prescribing the powers and duties of the Commissioner of Public Buildings in conformity with the Charter provisions; providing a penalty for the violation thereof and repealing all ordinances inconsistent herewith. This is an emergency .ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace , health and safety, " approved May 22, 1930, as amended. That said ordinance No. 7210, approved May 22, 1930, as heretofore amended, be and the same hereby is amended in the folowing particulars : to wit: Add a new sub-section 2ir° Section 109 to be known as 5 , as follows : o "5%. Electrical Work--Permit Fees For "a . New Electrical Service in Existing Buildings. U "For the installation of a new service , up to and in- cluding 100 ampere service where additional alterations, additions , repairs or installation of electrical equip- ment are included on the same permit, in an existing building or structure , the permit fee shall be five dol- lars ($5.00) . " Section 2. That said ordinance is hereby further amended by deleting paragraphs a and b from Section 109- 6 and substitut- ing in lieu thereof: "a . PRESENTED BY ORDINANCE NO. "Two Dollars ($2.00) for the first twenty (20) , One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) for each additional twen- ty-five (25) . "For the installation of electric wiring for outlets , electric light fixtures , or lamp receptacles for use on lighting outlets , in any building or structure (attach- ed garage to house included) , the permit fee charge shall be Two Dollars ($2.00) for the first twenty (20) outlets , light fixtures or lamp receptacles or frac tional part thereof. For the installation of each additional twenty- five (25) outlets , fixtures, or receptacles , or fraction- al part thereof , there shall be a permit fee charge of One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50 "For the purpose of this code , the word "outlet" shall be interpreted to mean a light receptacle opening , light fixture opening , appliance outlets , a switch opening including a switch, a convenience opening including a receptacle , a motor opening or other device opening or enclosure . A group of lights for window illumination rigidly attached to one another and made up and install- ed as one unit, with such unit insulated from all ground- ed metal work in a manner as provided by this code , shall be considered as one outlet only. " Section 3. That said ordinance is hereby further amended by striking the first paragraph from Section 109-6-o , and sub- stituting in lieu thereof: "For the installation of new services in existing structures where no other electrical work is included on the same permit except the service , for the installation of an electrical system or for any additions , alterations or repairs to an electrical service in an existinj build- ing or structure and for all electrical work for which the . permit fee charge is not specifically heretofore provided, the permit fee charge shall be made at the following rates : " Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emer- gency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace , health and safety. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon its passage , approval and publication.
