This is described as lots 8 through 14 inclusive, block 29, West End Addition. The zoning is "Commercial ." This proposed parking lot is to be developed in conjunction with a Super Market which is constructed on this site. The land is presently occupied by four single-family homes which will be removed for this purpose. The Red Owl firm controls the entire frontage on the north side of west ;seventh be- tween Alaska and Albion and will develop a 16,800 sq. ft. store which will be located on the easterly half of the site. The parking lot will be located on the westerly half of the site and will have a capacity of approximately 112 cars. The existing alley running along the northerly boundary of the property will be separated from the parking lot proper so that the adjacent residential property to the north will not be troubled by parking lot traffic. The plans for this facility have been cleared by Mr. George Shepard, Highway Engineering Coordinator and Mr. Eugene Avery, City Traffic Engineer, as well as by Mr. Kipp of the State Highway Department in that this facility will be adjacent to a future Interstate Highway project. Field investigation discloses no objection from the standpoint of adjacent land use or traffic. The .oning Board recommends that this permit be granted subject to the appli- cant's plans dated May 22, 1957 whichcall for the construction of a structural screen which will block the parking lot from the residential property to the north.
