Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of the Clark Oil
and Refining Company to install and operate a filling station
on the property adjacent to the northwest corner of north Rice
and Lafond. The property is described as lots 1, 2, and N.
14' of lot 3, and S. 38' of N. 808' of E. 160' of NEi of Sec.
36, T. 29, R. 23, Block 17, Moren' s Enlargement . The present
zoning is a combination of "Light" and "Heavy" industry.
There is an existing filling station on a portion of the site,
the remainder is vacant . The applicants propose to redevelop
the site with a new facility. It has a frontage of 150' on
Rice and 130' on Lafond. Adjacent land uses are as follows:
there is industrial property to the north which is used as an
access way by the Rayette people: residences to the west: a
filling station across Lafond to the south and commercial stores
across Rice to the east .
Field investigation discloses no objection from the standpoint
of land use or traffic.
The Zoning Board recommends this permit be granted in accord-
ance with the applicant's plans approved May 2, 1957.
