PAUL FILE NCIL NO 18:1406 OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUN RESOLUTION-GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY / COMMISSIONER //� 0`'�"-1 DATF WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from June 1st to June 15th 1957 inc., which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Repairing Filtration Plant equipment. 2) Working extra shifts at Filtration Plant and various stations. 3) Operating Centerville Station. 4) Finishing installation of, and repairing water mains and service connections. (5) Taking emergency calls at Storeyard. (6) Driving country crew to and from work. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. (2) Illness of employees on regular shifts. (3) Additional pumping necessary to maintain lake levels. 4) In order to give water and fire protection to consumers as quickly as possible. (5) Nights and Sundays. (6) On account of scattered work locations. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446. 1 Council File No. 183406—By Milton Rosen— Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Water for extra employment as described in the resolution.
