SECTION 3 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by deleting Subsection 12 of Section 1806 and substituting in lieu thereof the following : "12. Cleanouts "The bodies of cleanout ferrules shall be made in stand- ard pipe sizes , conforming in thickness to that required for pipe and fittings , of the same metal and to extend not less than one quarter ( 1/4) inch above the hub. _ The cleanout cap or plug shall be of heavy red brass provided with raised lugs or recessed sockets for removal , as ap- proved by the City Architect. " SECTION 4 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by deleting Subsection 2 (Vitrified Pipe) in its entirety from Section 1807. SECTION 5 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by adding a new sentence after the first sentence in Section 1807-10 (Closets and Similar Fixtures) , to read as follows : "Water closets in basements on concrete floor , in all buildings , may be connected to an iron floor connection and caulked to cast iron pipe . Vent piping may also be made with cast iron pipe . " SECTION 6 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by deleting the second sentence in Section 1808-5-a (Pipe Cleanouts) and substituting in lieu thereof : "There shall be at least two cleanouts in the building drain , one at or near the base of the stack and the other, with full size wye branch, not more than twenty- four (24) inches inside the wall where the building drain enters the basement. " and add to the last sentence in Section 1808-5-a the following : "with covers of heavy brass provided with raised lugs or recessed socket. " SECTION 7 That said ordinance be further amended by adding to Sec- tion 1809-6-b (Shower Drains) , the following : "except single shower drain in basement need not be vent- ed provided a deep seal trap is used. " SECTION 10 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by deleting from Section 1810-2 (Soil and Waste Stacks) the reference to "Table No. V" and substituting in lieu thereof the words , "Table No. VII. " SECTION 16 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by deleting from paragraph a in Section 1810-15 (Roof Terminals ) the words : "twelve ( 12) feet" and add in lieu thereof : "eight (8) feet" and delete from paragraph c , the words : "twelve ( 12) feet" and add in lieu thereof : "eight ( 8) feet" SECTION 17 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by delet- ing from the first paragraph of Section 1811-1 (Drainage of Yards , Areas And Roofs) the words : "twelve ( 12) feet" and adding in lieu thereof "eight ( 8) feet. SECTION 19 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by delet- ing from Section 1811-3 ( Inside Downspouts for Flat Roofs ) the first two sentences of Paragraph b and substituting in lieu thereof the following : "b. For flat dead level roofs having a coping , roofs . shall be protected with scuppers set at least four (4) inches above the finished roof . The following Table No. IX for downspout sizes and roof drains shall be used in conjunction with Table No. X. " and by deleting the heading : "TABLE NO. VII" and substitut- ing in lieu thereof the heading : "TABLE NO. IX" SECTION 20 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by delet- ing from the last sentence of Section 1811-7 (Disposal of Cooling Water Wastes ) the words "Table VI" and adding in lieu thereof the words : "Table No. VIII . " SECTION 21 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by delet- ing Paragraph' a''from Section 1812-6 (Garbage Grinder Wastes) and adding in lieu thereof the following : a . When garbage grinder units are installed on two ( 2) compartment sinks , the same can waste into a single trap providing an approved continuous waste fitting with non back flow feature is installed. " SECTION 22 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by delet- ing Paragraphs a , b , c , from Section 1812-13 (Size of Drains and Sewers ) and adding in lieu thereof the following : -6- /0 r �l D 740 "a . All building drains shall be properly connected to the building sewer and extended to the property line using extra heavy cast iron pipe joined together with oakum and lead caulked joints . "b. The minimum size of the building sewer to the prop- erty line shall be four (4) inch. The minimum size of the building sewer from the property line to the City Sewer shall be six (6) inch. "c. This regulation shall not require the reconstruction of existing paving house sewer connections , nor shall it apply in the case of repair work to existing vitrified pipe house sewers . "d. All house sewers and drains shall , where possible , slope at least one quarter ( 1/4) inch per foot and in no case less than one-eighth ( 1/8) inch per foot. "e . Every building drain , when underground, shall not be less than four (4) inches in diameter. Every branch, when underground , serving one or more water closets shall be not less than four (4) inches in diameter. " SECTION 23 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by deleting from Section 1812-14 (Combined Storm and Sanitary Building Drains and Building Sewers) Paragraphs a , b, c , d , Tables VIII, IX, and X$ in their entirety, and adding in lieu thereof the following new paragraphs and tables : "a . Whenever a combined sewer system is employed and required, size of the building drain shall be determined by adding to the drained area in square feet an equiva- lent area for each ' fixture unit' on the sanitary system and then applying the total to Table No. VIII except that the combined sanitary and storm sewer shall be not less than four (4) inches in diameter. On systems where there is less than 1,000 square feet of roof area add an equivalent of 50 square feet of roof area for each fix- ture unit on the sanitary system. "b. For roof areas 1 ,000 to 10,000 square feet, add an equivalent of twenty (20) square feet of roof area for each fixture unit on the sanitary system. "c. On buildings having from 10,000 to 30,000 square feet of roof area , add an equivalent of ten (10) square feet of roof area for each fixture unit on the sanitary system. "d. On buildings having more than 30,000 square feet of roof area , the size of the storm water drain shall de- termine the size of the combined sewer. The required sizes of the sanitary building drain up to their point of junction may be independently determined from Table No. XI. "e. The required sizes of sloping combined storm and sanitary building drains and building sewers and their sloping branches shall be determined in accordance with Table VIII. -7- 1_8:3t 25 SECTION 2 I ( D 24 That said ordinance be hereby further amended by deleting in its entirety Sub-section 2 (Vitrified Clay Pipe) from Sec- tion 1806. On systems where there is less than 1,000 square feet of roof area add an equivalent of 50 square feet of roof area for each fixture unit on the sanitary system. "b. For roof areas 1,000 to 10,000 square feet, add an equivalent of twenty (20) square feet of roof area for each fixture unit on the sanitary system. tc.
