Holland— Whereas, A sudden and unexpected emergency has arisen with respect to the concrete gutters around the ( i outsde cages and the exterior walls .• . o ,+ 5, 4hn nna - WHEREAS, a sudden and unexpected emergency has arisen with respect to the concrete gutters around the outside cages and the exterior walls of the building adjacent to thecages at the Como Park Zoo, in that the gutters have completely deteriorated and spalled off, the exterior walls are spalling, and stones have deteriorated, all permitting water to seep down into the main structure causing further deterioration, and WHEREAS, there are insufficient funds available to properly remedy this situation, and it is necessary to borrow funds therefore, under Section 206 of the Charter in order to protect and to prevent further destriction of public buildings by elemental causes ; therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Comptroller be and they are hereby authorized and directed, on or after the 1st day of June, 1957, to borrow, on behalf of the City of St. Paul, a sum not in excess of $20,000.00 and to execute and deliver to the party or parties making the loan a promissory note of the City of St. Paul, payable to such person or persons, bearing interest at a rate not exceeding five per cent per annum, said note to be payable one year from the date of execution thereof ; be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds so borrowed be credited to Zoo Emergency Repair, 18-G-5, all of said fund to be expended only for the purpose of rehabilitating the above mentioned Zoo Building walls, gutters and slabs. mg 2 8 i9 ' COUNCILMEN Adopted by the uouncil 195_ Yeas Nays e urcy olland Approve. —195- ar 'telli In Favor /F? orti son d ' " eterson Mayor Rosen Against Mr. President, Dillon PUBLISHED /-S� 5M 2.57 c '2 • Duplicate to Printer CITY OF ST.
