Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the appeal of the St. Luke Lutheran
Chucrch to establish a new building line on the property located adj-
acent to the north side of Field between Edgecumbe Road and Wheeler.
This property is described as follows: W. 20' of lot 11, ownership
lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 - block 7 - Granport Addition. The
present zoning is "A" residence."
Ghe property is presently vacant and has a frontage of 286.36'
on Field and extends 122.9' on Edgecumbe.
The applicants are proposing a change in the building line apply-
ing to the west 20' of lot 11 from 24' to 18' to permit the develop-
ment of a 6' x 20' cloakroom incident to the entrance treatment of
this proposed addition to the church located on this site. This
minor change in the existing building line would actually only affect
20' of the frontage located at a distance of some 143' from Edgecumbe.
Field investigation discloses no objection from the standpoint of
adjacent land use. Five out of the seven owners of property on the
north side of Field have signed a petition acquiescing to this
change.
In consideration of these factors, the Zoning Board recommends
that this appeal be granted.

GVe, the undersigned, hereby appeal under Section 20, para-
graph j of Ordinance No. 5840, for the establishment of a building
line eighteen ( 18) feet from the property line on Field Avenue
and for a distance of twenty (20) feet east from the west line
of Lot 11, Block 7, of Granport Addition to St. Paul.
This is being appealed to provide space for a new church
building on the corner of Field Avenue and Edgcumbe Road with a
set-back of eighteen (18) feet at the front entrance on Field
Avenue, being partly on Lot 14 and partly on Lot 11, in lieu
of building to a pernissable set-back of six (6) feet from Field
Avenue on Lot 14 of the same block.

Mr. Loren J. Harrington, owner of lot 1, block 7, being absent from
the city, signed the attached copy which was mailed to him.
Mr. Alex C. Warren, owner of lot 4, block 7, is presently unknown as
to his whereabouts . Neither the city directory nor various other
agencies have any record of him. Efforts are still being made to
trace him.
