WHEREAS , William Haney, an employe of the Depart-
ment of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul, was injured
on May 5, 1955, in a third party accident while engaged in
the performance of his duties for the Department of Public
Safety, when he was struck by an automobile driven by
Robert G. Burns ; and
WHEREAS , the City has incurred medical expenses
in the amount of $79.00 in connection with said injury,
and has paid $216.97 in salary to said employe while he
was disable d because of said injury; and
WHEREAS , a settlement has been negotiated by the
parties whereby said employe will receive the sum of $1,400.00
in settlement of his claim against the party causing the
accident, and the City has been offered the sum of $200.00
for its subrogation interest ; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City officers are hereby
authorized to accept said sum of $200.00 in settlement of
its claim in said third party accident ; that of this sum,
$79.00 shall be credited to Fund 31-G1-B, and $121.00 be
credited to Fund 7-C-1.

ment of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul , was injured
on May 5, 1955, in a third party accident while engaged in
the performance of his duties for the Department of Public
Safety, when he was struck by an automobile driven by
Robert G. Burns ; and
WHEREAS , the City has incurred medical expanses
