Dillon— Whereas, The Legislature of the State of Minnesota in its 1957 session c1iq, enact a bill relating to Port ?y'HEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Minnesota in its 1957 session did enact a bill relating to Port Authorities in the extension of the functions of such Port Authorities in the w.'y of promoting industrial development districts within such Port Authorities, such legislation ulti- mately becoming Laws of the State of Minnesota, Chapter 812; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul believes and finds that it is in the best interests of the City of Saint Paul that this City operate to come under the provisions of the above described 1egislatioi; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that it is in the best interests of the City that it proceed to operate and exercise the powers given under and pursuant to Laws of the State of Minnesota 1957, Chapter 812; and be it further provided that, pursuant to Section 2 of the sr-id law referred to, the Port Authority of the City of Saint Paul is hereby increased to seven members who shall constitute such Port Authority; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that when the names of the members of the new Port Authority are submitted by the Mayor and approved by this Council, and said. Port Authority then becomes duly constituted, said. Port Authority is hereby directed and authorized by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul to begin operations under and to exercise the powers given by the said Laws of the State of Minnesota 1957, Chanter 812.
