WHEREAS, Alfred H. Schroeder, City Architect , has requested
the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any com-
plaints about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in
removing dangerous structures at 682 West dater Street,
more particularly described as Lot 12, Cox's First Addition to
Saint Paul , according to the plat thereof filed of record in
the office of the Register of Deeds of Ramsey County, Minnesota ,
and
WHEREAS , it appears that the last known record owner of
the property is Edward Tilleman, 1012 Aurora Avenue , St. Paul
4 and in care of 302 South Exchange Street, St. Paul 2;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hold
a public hearing in the Council Chamber at ten o'clock A. M.
on July 31st, 1957 to consider any complaints
about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul and to
confirm the amount thereof; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by mail
the record owners of the property in question, at the last
known address. - —

Gentlemen:
A statement of expense has been filed with the City lerk on
this date for t e purpose of creating a lien on the roperty
known as 682 West Water Street, on Lot 12, Cox 's Fir t Addi-
tion to St. Paul. This property is owned by Edward illeman,
1012 Aurora Ave ue , St. Paul 4 and c/o 302 S. Exchan e Street,
St. Paul 2.
In this matter, the following resolutions were adopted by the
Council:
C.F. 180264, adopted by the Council November 6, 1956, (publish-
ed November 10, 1956) set a public hearing at 10 A.M. December
4, 1956.
C. F. 180694, asopted by the Council December 11 , 196 (pub-
lished December 15 , 1956) ordered the wrecking by and at the
separate cost a d expense of the owner, occupant, or other per
son in control 'hereof.
C.F. 180964, adopted by the Council January 4, 1957 (published
January 12, 195 ) directed the Commissioner of Parks, Play-
grounds And Pub is Buildings to enter the premises and wreck
and remove the swelling and accessory buildings thereon, and
to do any and a 1 things therein necessary for the protection
of life , limb, .nd adjoining property.
C.F. 182156, adapted by the Council April 2, 1957 (published
April 6 , 1957) . pproved the specifications prepared by this
office for the recking of this building and authorized the
purchasing ageni to advertise for bids.
C. F. 182628, asopted by the Council May 3, 1957 (pu lished
May 11, 1957) approved the award of the contract for wrecking
to All State Improving Co. for the sum of $174.00 in accordance
with the specif cations and Formal Bid No. 6323.

C. F. 183518, adopted by the Council June 27 , 1957 (pub-
lished June 29 , 1957) provided that the wrecking expense
of $174.00 an.. the expenses of the Department of Parks ,
Playgrounds A, d Public Buildings in connection with the
condemnation n the amount of $53.74 , making a total of
$227 .74 be paid out of Wrecking Condemned Buildings of
the General F nd , 31 G 23, and, in the event said sum
proves collec ible from the owner same is to be credited
to 31 G 23.
The dwelling :nd accessory buildings have been satisfac-
torily wrecke. and a Registered Bill mailed to thEl, owner.
We are reques ing that you hold a public hearing with ten
days notice t. consider any complaints about the expenses
incurred and o confirm the amount.
The Council r-solution confirming the expense should end
with a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement
of expense fog the purpose of securing a lien on the prop-
erty.
