Resolved, That the proper city offi-
cers are hereby authorized to pay
certain employes in the Department
of Parks, Playgrounds and Public
Buildings for extra employment as
described in the resolution.

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of parks, Playgrounds and Public
Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from July 1 to 15, 1957, which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
of the Depai- rent of Parks, Playgrounds and Public
Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours er week in doing the following work:
editing the services of the City Archi-
t ct's office and completing departmental
p yroll.
And WHEREAS This emergency arose by reason of the following
facts nd circumstances:
raordinary, heavy demand for the develop-
ment of bond issue projects; and unusually
short preparation period for the payroll.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVD, That the proper city officers
are �, eby authorized to pay the employees who per-
forme. such work in accordance with the provisions
of th= Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 614116.
