WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works on February 1,
1957, was granted permission by Council Resolution to purchase
from the Phillippi Equipment Company services and materials
to repair Drott Bullclam at a cost of approximately $3,000.00,
without advertisement or competitive bids as this was the only
source of supply and an emergency existed where failure to act
promptly would have worked a hardship to the best interests of
the City; and
WHEREAS, said Department of Public Works had said repair
work done by the P illippi Equipment Company, and said repairs
were far more expensive then expected, said work being completed
on March 1, 1957, and invoiced to the Public Works Department
on March 11, 1957, in the amount of $5, 427.68; now, therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that Council File No. 181312 is hereby repealed,
and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing Agent be and is hereby
authorized with the consent of the mayor and the comptroller to
purchase from and to pay for the aforementioned repairs to and
materials for Drott Bullclam to Phillippi Equipment Company at
a cost of $5, 427.68, as an emergency did exist and said work
was done properly .nd has been accepted by the Department of
Public Works.
