WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from September 1, 1957 to September 15, 1957
inclusive which rendered necessary the employment of certain
employees of the Department of Public Utilities for more than
eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the follow-
ing works
Supervising the activities of the City Market,
and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-
stances:

increased a tivity at the City Market,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper ity officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employees who pe formed such work in accordance with the pro-
visions of the C.uncil's Salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
