1 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, on May 13, 2009, approved the Joint Powers
2 Agreement establishing the I-94 Corridor Commission to engage in collaborative platuiing for multi-modal
3 improvements on the I-94 corridor originating at the Union Depot in downtown Saint Paul and traveling
4 east through Washington County, and for the related land use and development impacts; and
5
6 VJHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has been asked to appoint a representative to the I-94 Corridor
7 Commission;
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Councilmember Kathy Lantry be appointed to serve as
10 the City's repxesentative to the I-94 Corridor Commission and that Public Works staff Allen Lovejoy be
11 appointed to serve as her alternate.

On may 13, 2009 the City Council approved the joint power agreement establishing the I-94 Corridor Commission to engage in
collabrative pianning for multi-modal improvemnt on the I-94 comdor originating a[ the Union Depot in downtown saint paul and
traveling east throught washington Counry. The Mayor has been asked to appoint a representave to the I-94 Corridor Commission.
Advantages If Approved:
The Ciry would have an in[egrated role in the future developement of Major East Me4o transportation improvement, as well as the
anticipated development that would conicide with the new transitway.

Regional planning for the transitway may be uncoordinated and fragmented
