Whereas, William Gillet, an employe
of the Department of Public Safe*- n"

WHEREAS, William Gillet, an employe of the Department
of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul, was injured in
a third party accident on June 6, 1957, while engaged in the
performance of his duties for the Department of Public Safety;
and
WHEREAS, the City, together with $126.00 paid Officer
Gillet as salary while he was disabled for work because of
said accident, has also expended the sum of $66.00 for medical
expenses arising out of his injury, and in consequence thereof
is subrogated to the employee' s claim in the amount of $192.00;
and
WHEREAS, the City Corporation Counsel' s office is
now in receipt of a draft of the State Farm Mutual Automobile
Insurance Company No. 141027 in the amount of $580.00, payable
to William Gillet and Michael Baglio, his attorney, and the
City of Saint Paul ;
Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City officers are hereby
authorized, upon receipt of a certified check or a cashier' s
check from William Gillet or his attorney in the amount of
$144.00, to execute the aforementioned draft from the State
Farm Mutual Insurance Company and to turn it over to Mr. Gillet
or his attorney and take the proper receipt therefor, said
$144.00 representing the City' s subrogation interest in the
amount of $192.00 less 25 per cent of such amount payable to
Mr. Baglio as attorney' s fees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That Resolution, Council File No. 184143,
is hereby cancelled and superseded by this Resolution; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That of the sum of $144.00, $66.00 be
credited to Fund 31-G1-B, and $78.00 be credited to Fund
