WHEREAS, the Saint Pa�hEiie Deoar[inent has received donafions of $500.00 from the Residential Mortgage Group (RMG) to
ixnprove the communities where they live and anticipates receiving $500.00 from United Hospital and $500.00 from Regions
Hospital, and
WHEREAS, these the donarions up to $1,500.00 will be used to pay for all cosu associated with the Saint Paul Fire
Deparhnent's "Celebrate a Healthy Heart" event being held F'ue Starion 4 on July 30, 2009, and
WHEREAS, the public puipose of fhis event is to promote healthy lifestyles that affect cardiovascular health; nuhition, exercise,
stress management, and relaxation, and
WHEREAS, the costs for the "Celebrate a Healthy Heart" event include a fimess activiry trainer, healthy snacks and beverages,
and fire department promotional materials, and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the donations received, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pwsuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available
for appropriations funds of $1,500.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2009 budget and recommends the following addition be
made to the 2009 budget:

The Saint Paul Fire Department is holding a"Celebrate a Healthy Heart" event at Fire Station 4 on July 30, 2009. The purpose of this
event is to promote healthy lifesryles that affect cazdiovascular health; nutrition, exercise, sfress management, and relaxation.
Advantages If Approved:
The Saint Paul Fire Departrnent will have a financing and spending plan for the dona[ions received. The citizens of Saint Pau] will be
able to learn about ways to keep their heazts healthy and it is an opportuniry for the fire deparhnent to interact wiffi the communiry.

None.

Subject: Fire Budget Amendment for public outreach donations
Date: June 30, 2009
This resolution establishes a financing and spending plan for $1500 in donations. Three organizations
are donating $500 each to support the "Celebrate a Healthy Heart" event. This is being held by the Fire
department at Fire Station 4 on July 30. It is open to the public and is meant to promote healthy cazdio
lifestyles.
This will require a public hearing and will be on the agenda July 15th.
This proposal seems reasonable, I recommend signing.
