A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is. construct a monolithic concrete sidewalk on the
south side of Reaney Ave. from Howard St. to Winthrop St. except where satisfactory
sidewalk exists,
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made, as a public necessity.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

The Commissioner of Public Works, having had under consideration the prelimin-
ary order of the Council, known as Council File No. 182840 approved
May 15th. 19 57 , relative to the construction of a monolithic cone
crete sidewalk on the south side of Reaney Ave. from Howard St. to Winthrop St.
except where satisfactoty sidewalk exists.

We the undersigned and property owners hereby oppose and object
' to the construction�lof a monolithic concrete sidewalk on the south side of
Reaney Avenue from toward Street to Winthrop Street. We can see no benefit
in sidewalks on onl one side of the street and only on one block; also we
do not feel that we can afford the cost at this time.
