ficers are herbey authorized to pay
certain employes in the Department of
Parks, Playgrounds and Public Build-I
ings for extra employment as described
in the resolution.

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds and Public
Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from August 1 to 15, 1957, which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
of the Department of Parks, Playgrounds and Public
Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
Expediting the services of the City Archi-
tect1s office and supervision and implemen-
tation of transfer of offices of the Parks
and Playgrounds Bureaus from the 4th to the
5th Floor.
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
Extraordinary, heavy demand for the develop-
ment of bond issue projects; and the necessity
of moving offices on a Saturday morning when
no business would be transacted.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers
are hereby authorized to pay the employees who per-
formed such work in accordance with the provisions
of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
