Dear Council Members:
Under date of July 15, 1957, a printed copy of Council File
No. 183622 was mailed to John E. Blomquist, Inc. , Empire
Bank Building , St. Paul 1, and Irving Levenson, 394 N. Dale
Street, St. Paul 3, which resolution directed the wrecking
and removal of the single family dwelling at 402 N. Dale
Street, also described as Except N 125 feet of Lot 15 and
Except E 10 feet of Lot 17 , and All of Lot 16, Block 10,
Mackubin & Marshall 's Addition to St. Paul , as published in
the official paper.
Mr. Levenson directed a letter to Commissioner Holland on
June 19 in which he advised that negotiations were under
way to have the existing buildings removed as soon as finan-
cial arrangements have been completed.
However, no appeal has been filed with this cff ice for a re-
hearing of the condemnation proceedings and the building has
not been removed. Please proceed with the condemnation ac-
tion which will authorize the Commissioner of Parks , Play-
grounds And Public Buildings to enter upon the property and
wreck and remove the building thereon, and do any and all
things therein necessary for the protection of life , limb
and adjoining property.
Yours truly,
