Petition on Preliminary Order 165895
The Council of the
City of St. Paul, Minn.
Whereas notice has been received by the property owners directly
affected by PrelimApary Order 165895 on which hearing has been set for
10:00 A.M., August• 13 1957, to consider the construction of monolithic
concrete sidewalks on both sides of Fairview Avenue from Highland Parkway
to Edgcumbe Road, we the undersigned do hereby petition.
In as much as all of the property involved in this hearing was
acquired and landscaped on the understanding that sidewalks were not in
the city plans either at the time of purchase or for the future.
And in as much as the installation of sidewalks will do irrepar-
able damage to the property herein involved by the requirement of regrading,
relandscaping and otherwise changing the contour of the area which cannot
be accomplished except at great expense and deterioriation of property values.
And whereas all of the property owners herein involved maintain
such property in good first-class condition, including the boulevard area,
and provide free and adequate access at all times for the safe and unencum-
bered passage of pedestrians.
?^.'e hereby petition that no further action be taken on the instal-
lation of such sidewalks and the hearing and Preliminary Order 165895 be
dismissed.
