An Ordinance for the purpose of promoting the
public safety by regulating speed in alleys in the
City of Saint Paul. This is an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety.
The Council of the City of Saint Paul Does Ordain:
Section 1.
No person shall drive a vehicle on any public
alley in the City of Saint Paul at a speed greater than is
reasonable and prudent under the circumstances, and in no
event at a speed greater than ten miles per hour.
Section 2.
Any person violating the terms of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100.00 or by
imprisonment for a period not exceeding 90 days.
Section 3.
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health, and safety.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
upon its passage, approval and publication, and upon its
approval by the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department
of Highways.
