Hafner for a permit to remodel and enlarge an existing filling station on property located adjacent to the NW corner of Dale and La- . fond Streets. This property is zoned commercial. A public hearing is not required for this matter. This property extends 74.5' along Dale Street and 80' along Lafond Street. The applicant proposes to enlarge this filling station by adding a concrete block addition 22' x 20' to his existing building which would be between the existing building and the west property line. • The applicant has submitted a letter signed by the adjoining property owner on the west stating that this owner has no objection to reducing the 10' buffer to 5' along the west pro- perty line. This would permit the proposed addition to be built within 5' of the west property line. Field investigation discloses no objection from the standpoint of adjacent land use or traffic. The Traffic Engineer has approved the proposed layout and operation. In consideration of these factors, the Zoning Board recommends this permit be granted in accordance with plans approved November 7, 1957. Sincerely, Herbert C. Okoneski City Clerk Saint Paul, Minnesota Dear Sir: Referring to the application of Michael C. Rafter for permission to remodel his gasoline filling station located at the northwest corner of Dale Street and Lafond Avenue. Attached is report covering inspection made in this connection by the Fire Prevention Division. Very truly yours, A Commissioner of Public Safety r THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL INTER-OFFICE COMMUNICATION O May 9, 1958 Hon. Robert F. Peterson Commissioner of Public Safety Dear Sir: In regard to the application of Michael C. Hafner for permission to remodel their existing gasoline filling station from the northwest corner of Dale Street and Lafond Avenue. We have investigated the foregoing and report that on the original application they were to install three tanks of 2,000 gallons capacity each. This has been revised and the tankage will be decreased. They now have one-1,000 and two-500 gallons tanks which were originally installed and now want to install one additional 2,000 gallon tank, total capacity 4,000 gallons. With this desired change, we do not believe that it will increase the fire hazard in that vicinity and recommend that permit be granted. Respectfully yours, ..r Lt R ,04.4.4.,t.tai ward J.
