Council City of St. Paul Dear Council Members: A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this date, for the purpose of creating a lien on the proper- ty known as 567 Orleans Street, described as Lot 5, Block 10, Olivier' s Addition. The property is owned by Leo F . Switter, 564 Manomin Street, St. Paul 7, and Jean T. Switter, 1087 Edgerton Street, St. Paul 1. In this matter, the following resolutions were adopted by the City Council : C. F. 184188, adopted August 15, 1957 (published August 17, 1957) , set a public hearing at 10 A. M. on September 6, 1957. C. F. 184501, adopted September 11, 1957 (published September 14, 1957) , ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof. C. F. 184819, adopted October 9, 1957 (published October 12, 1957) , directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds And Pub- lic Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the dwelling thereon, and do any and all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining property. C. F. 185233, adopted November 21, 1957 (published November 23, 1957) , approved the specifications prepared by this office for the wrecking of this building and authorized the Purchas- ing Agent to advertise for bids. C. F. 185517, approved by the Council December 18, 1957 (pub- lished December 21, 1957) , approved the award of the contract for wrecking to All State Improving Co. for the sum of $188.00 in accordance with specifications andFormal Bid No. 6791. 04/7 #2 - Council C. F. 186296, adopted by the Council February 25, 1958 (published March 1, 1958) provided that the wrecking ex- pense of $188.00 and the expenses of the Department of Parks Playgrounds And Public Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the amount of $47.85, making a total of $235,85, be paid out of Wrecking Condemned Buildings Fund No. 31 G 23; and, in the event said sum proves collecti- ble from the owner, same is to be credited to this fund. The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a Registered Bill No. 4-1634 was mailed to the owners. We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten days' notice to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred and to confirm the amount. The Council resolution confirming the expenses should end with a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement of expense for the purpose of securing a lien on the property. o \ Alf td H.
