"An administrative ordinance fixing the com-
pensation rates of certain city positions and employ-
ments, "
approved January 23, 1925, as amended. This is an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 6446, approved January 23, 1925,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by inserting at
the end of Section I (C) the following paragraph:
"(3) Appointees to the position of Junior Civil Engineer may be paid
any Step except Step G in the Standard Range applicable to the
position; provided, however, that if appointment is made at any
Step other than Step A, all other Junior Civil Engineers in the
employ of the City shall be given credit, for the purpose of salary
increases, of six months for each Step that the new appointee was
started above Step A. "
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace,
health and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after the first day of the first payroll period following its passage,
approval and publication.
