Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of Raymond L. Truelson for a permit
to remodel an existing drive-in restaurant operation on Lots 188 thru 193,
Hinkels Third Amendment: The property under consideration is located adjacent
to the SE corner of Lynnhurst and University Avenue and is zoned Lt. Industry.
The main office of the Northwest Airlines is across Univ. to the north and
Midway Ford Co. sales lot is located just to the east. There are commercial
establishments located in the area on Univ. Ave. There are residences to the
south and Lake Iris Park is across Lynnhurst to the west. The property under
consideration has a frontage of 150 ft. along Univ. Ave. and extends southerly
along Lynnhurst a distance of 140 ft.
The City Council granted to the applicant a permit to install and operate
a drive-in restaurant in 1953. The present development is in accordance with
plans approved at that time. Applicant now desires to amend his plan by add-
ing an addition on the west side of the existing building. Field investigation
discloses no objection to this proposed addition and the Traffic Engineer has
approved the layout and operation.
The Board of Zoning therefore recommends that this permit be granted in accordance
with the applicant's plans approved Oct. 3, 1957. and in ac ordance with all
conditions attached to the granting of the original permit.
