PAUL FILE NCIL No OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY C T -•• .. £Ii rla ' J t�' DATE November 1, 1957 COMMISSIONER !H WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from October 16th. to October 31st. , 1957 which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Council File No. 185066—By Bernard' Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair T. Holland, by request— Resolved That the proper city offi- Dispatching men for emergency repair work cers are hereby authorized to pays certain employes in the Department Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work of Public Works for extra employment, as described in the resolution. Removing debris from city streets (November 9, 1957) Tending fire at Asphalt Plant in Sundays & holidays Emergency garbage pickup Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs Completing payroll work And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances : Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, picking up garbage, taking complaints at city yards, completing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work, and completing payroll work. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who p-rformed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council ' s salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
