Saint Paul be permitted to install and operate a private
parking lot on the south side of Montreal Avenue beween
Snelling and Davern Avenues, on the west one-half of the
NU of the NE% of the SE% of Section 16, Township 28 North
Range 23 West ( incident to the Junior High School at this
location) , i9ccordance with plans filed October 1 , 1957,
and subject to compliance with the provbions of all ordinances
governing the operation of parking lots and to the further
condition that sidewalks abutting said premises be kept clean

Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of the Board of Education for a permit
to install and operate a private parking lot on property located on the south
side of Montreal between Snelling Ave. and Davern Ave. The property is described
as part of the west one-half of the NE i of the NE i of the SE i of Section 16,
Township 28 North, Range 23 West. The zoning is t1A" Residence.
The property is presently vacant and has a frontage of 132 ft . on Montreal ex-
tending some 594 ft. south. The applicants propose to utilize the site as a
parking lot for teachers and students in conjunction with the recently completed
Highland Park Junior High School . The lot will have a capacity of 230 cars.
The yard area requirements a d the design standards concerning the provision for
parking lots have been compl ed with. The parking facility will be served by two
driveways both of which will be an entrance and exit located on Montreal. The
parking area has been design d and located for future integration with a similar
parking area for the Highland Park Senior High School when it is constructed.
Field investigation discloses no objection from the standpoint of adjacent land
use or traffic. The layout and operation of this facility have been approved by
the Traffic Engineer.
In consideration of these f tors the Zoning Board recommends that this permit
to establish a private park' g lot incident to the junior high school at this
location be granted in acco dance with plans filed Oct. 1, 1957.Ai
