RESOLVED, tha this Council, being duly advised in the premises,
finds that unforeseen and additional legislation, affecting and providing
for substantial increas s in City Officer's salaries, enacted by the Minnesota
State Legislature at it 1957 Session, has resulted in the creation of an
existing sudden and unfo eseen emergency wherein the City funds appropriated
therefor have become and are inaderuate to properly protect the public interests;
that to meet said emergency it has become and is necessary that, pursuant to
Sec. 206 of the City Charter, the City borrow temporarily the sum ofd $5 500 1,414,
to be credited to City Fund 1 A-1, City Officers' Salaries; that the Mayor and
the Comptroller be and h reb y are authorized and directed, for the purpose
aforesaid, to borrow, in the City's behalf, the said sum of $5,500 and to execute 114-*
and deliver, to the par or parties making such loan, the pro• ., • t no e o
the City, in the same principal sum, payable to such party or parties, bearing
interest not to exceed 4 per cent per annum and payable within one year after
the date of such loan; . that upon the making of such loan the said sum thereof
shall be credited, as of esaid, wholly, to said City Fund, 1 A-1, City Officers'
Salaries, subject therein to disbursement for the purposes of said emergency
and the particular purposes of said Fund.
