RESOLVED, That the Council hereby approves the award of the Purchasing Committee
therefor, and hereby awards the contract for furnishing the Water Department,
Purification Plant for delivery from November 1, 1957 to October 31, 1958,
approximately 1500 tons of 2000 lbs. each Aluminum Sulphate Filter Alum to the
GENERAL CHEMICAL DIVISION, ALLIED CHEMICAL & DYE CORPORATION in accordance with
Water Department specifications, Formal Bid #6715 of said General Chemical Division,
Allied Chemical & Dye Corporation and bidder's contract form, for the contract price
of approximately $76,950.00, in bulk, freight allowed to St. Paul, such bid being
the lowest and said General Chemical Division, Allied Chemical & Dye Corporation
being a reliable and reasonable bidder, and the Corporation Counsel be and hereby
is directed to draw up the proper form of contract therefor and the proper City
officials are hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of
St. Paul. Price based on present effective tariff rate of freight and is subject
to increase or decrease in freight rate. Contract to be made on bidder's form
submitted with bid.
