Resolution Ratifying Assessment
In the matter of the assessment of benefits, costs and expenses for
changing the grade of the alley in Block 39, Summit Park Addition, from Oxford Street
• to Lexington Avenue to conform to the grade as shown on the profile on file in the
Department of Public Works. Also grading and surfacing with bituminous material the
alley in Block 39, Summit Park Addition, from Oxford Street to Lexington Avenue to the
proposed change of grade,
under Preliminary Order 167826 , Intermediary Order 176928 , Final Order 177225
approved March 27 1956
A public hearing having been had upon the assessment for the above improvement, and said assessment
having been further considered by the Council, and having been considered finally satisfactory, be it therefore
RESOLVED, That the said assessment be and the same is hereby in all respects ratified, and the same
is hereby ordered to be submitted to the District Court of the County of Ramsey for confirmation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the said assessment be and it is hereby determined to be payable
in /0 equal installments.

To the Council of the City of St. Paul:
The Commissioner of Finance hereby reports to the Council the following as a statement of the ex-
penditures necessarily incurred for and in connection with the making of the above improvement, viz:
Cost of construction. $ 3,653.16
Engineering $ 327.00
Inspection fees $ —_
Postal cards. $ 1.26
Publications $ 9.45__
Court costs for confirmation $ 3.15__
Total expenditures $ 3,994.04
Said Commissioner further reports that he has assessed and levied the total amount as above ascer-
tained, to-wit: the sum of $ 3,994.04 upon each and every lot, part or parcel of land deemed
benefited by the said improvement, and in the case of each lot, part or parcel of land in accordance with
the benefits conferred thereon; that the said assessment has been completed, and that hereto attached,
identified by the signature of the said Commissioner, and made a part hereof, is the said assessment as
completed by him, and which is herewith submitted to the Council for such action thereon as may be
considered proper.

The reasons for this area
I I instigated the building of a seer in the alley
to take away a lake that has been allowed to stand in this
alley for over thee years.
4. Tire alley as it is, I think is fine, Always dry with
the exception- of th lake thiit will be done with as ;o. n as another

Z. I can see no reason for condeming and takilv any
easement on any property. There are many buildings located on
the Grand Ave side of this alloy an furthermore I am wt in
favor of making any alley easier for a Truck Terminal, that
has been tJ run in violation of 7.oning rdinance3.
4. I feel the cost of ' 3.60 per front foot is far out of line
for a Job of $3,773.75. •Tho e are 13 lots of 40 feet ' facing
Vwit, the same number on the ilorth sie of Grand, and thr ., •
