"An ordinance fixing the duties and responsi-
bilities and the minimum qualifications for the various
classes of positions in the Classified Service of the City,',
approved February 13, 1935, as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13,
19351 as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by inserting
in its proper alphabetical order the following specification for
ZOO FOREMAN

ZOO FOREMAN
Duties and responsibilities:
Under direction of the Director of the Zoo, to be responsible for
supervising the employees engaged in the care, feeding and
treatment of animals and birds in the Como Park Zoo; and to
perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To supervise the care and feeding of all the animals and birds.
To be responsible for safe, secure and sanitary housing methods.
To give first aid to sick or injured animals and to assist the
-veterinarian in the treatment of animals.
To render first aid to the public.
To conduct tours of the zoo.
To explain zoo activities to civic and other groups,
To exhibit animals and birds in schools or before special groups.
To be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all animal cages
and buildings.
To be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical
features and equipment of the zoo and grounds.
To prepare reports and inventories, and to requisition the proper foods
and supplies needed.
To keep time records and to assist with routine correspondence,
telephone calls and other office work.
To be in charge of the zoo in the absence of the Director.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and two years' experience as a Supervising
Zoo Attendant, or two years' experience as a supervisor in a zoo.
