Appeal of Barbara Liberty to a Certificate of Occupancy Deficiency List for property at 332 Fiont Avenue. Appellant Barbara Liberty appeazed. Ms. Shaff gave a staff report. She said that Inspector Martin had conducted an inspection for the Fire Certificate of Occupancy and reported that the openabie dimensions of the egress windows were 12 inches high by 35 inches wide in basement Units 7 and 8, and 16 inches high by 35 inches wide in all other units. Ms. Liberty stated that she had just put $60,000 worth of brand new double-hung windows in the building, and asked why the inspector hadn't said anything when the new windows were inspected. Ms. Shaff looked at the permit history and said that express permits had been pulled but never finalled. She said that the contractor should have called for a final anspection. Ms. Moermond asked how many units there were. Ms. Liberty said that there were four units. Ms. Moermond said that she would like to take some time to look into situation, and that her decision would be forthcoming. She said that if Ms. Liberty did have to replace the windows she would be given ample time to do so. On May 19, 2009, Ms. Moermond recommended granting the appeal for the egress windows due to the new Uniform Egress Window Policy memo dated April 29, 2009 from Bob Kessler, Director of Department of Safety and Inspections.
